The Man Behind CHP Born in Bangladesh, Tauhid studied fashion design at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) before launching his entrepreneurial career. In 2008, he founded his own company with three units in northern Bangladesh, leaving his job in 2007 to focus on the venture. Within nine months, he secured his first export order from Germany’s Kik Textilien. Starting small with an initial investment of BDT 5.4 million, his company, CHP, now exports to 33 countries, including major markets like Germany, Spain, Sweden, and the USA. Tauhid innovated by creating diverse jute-based products, aiming to make CHP a one-stop solution for sustainable home decor. He plans to expand through international e-commerce, emphasizing quality, sustainability, and compliance as pillars of success. Adapting to evolving CSR trends, CHP supports local schools for employees’ children and minimizes its carbon footprint through energy-efficient production. Tauhid identified untapped potential in Bangladesh’s communities, empowering marginalized groups through handicraft training and sustainable jobs.
