We are excited to announce the launch of the Doing Business Differently Toolkit as part of our Small But Perfect programme, in partnership with Fashion Revolution.
“Fair trade based on ecological sustainability and social justice has become a survival imperative. Fair trade is based on giving back to the Earth and society.” – Vandana Shiva.
Businesses which are driven by profit-primacy contribute to many of the social and environmental problems that we experience today in the current economic system that is unable to provide viable solutions to the urgent needs of our world. In this respect, Fair Trade (FT) provides a sustainable alternative to the economic system of profit-primacy, and urges everybody, including fashion enterprises, to think critically about their business practices and operations. By shifting focus from profit-maximisation to prioritising the well-being of people and planet as well as critically examining the practices along the supply chain, fashion enterprises can understand their social and environmental impact, become more transparent and answerable to their customers, and strengthen their commercial resiliency.
The Doing Business Differently Toolkit is designed to provide a sustainable alternative to the economic system of profit-primacy, and urges everybody, including fashion enterprises, to think critically about their business practices and operations. You can read and download the toolkit at this link.
