Turqle is an umbrella organisation – the fair trading link between selected local food producers and importers of fair trade food outside South Africa. In short – we are the trust bridge in the relationship between the producers and the customers. Our main functions (in broad strokes) Product Development – from seasonal gifting to year round ‘staple’ ranges… Quality Control – Making sure every product that leaves here conforms to specifications. Freight, logistics, order processing and monitoring – planning for export is a skill many producers have not hired for. Finance and monitoring – producers are paid on invoice – even if we have not been paid. The Fair Trade Trust and Fair Trade Monitoring. Most workers at the producers benefit from the Fair Trade Trust and our diligent Fair Trade monitoring means our customers are happy that we’ve checked (so they dont have to)!
