Persons with disabilities would not get opportunities for school or training, thus it was difficult for them to secure employment and would end up begging in the streets. Thus the need of setting a place for training and employment for the marginalised group. Bombolulu Workshops was therefore set initially as a sheltered workshop to offer this marginalised group of people an opportunity to be economically and socially empowered . Started very humbly with the jewellery department and eventually diversified into other product lines, i.e. clothing and textile, woodcarving and leather workshops.
