Environmental Solutions Hub (BfdW Project)

Objective: Increase access to information used to improve MSME Environmental Practices.

Through funding from Bread for the World, the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) has worked with Ubuntoo to successfully launch the WFTO Environmental Solutions Hub developed within the ‘Improving the environmental performance of small and medium Fair Trade and other socially oriented enterprises’ project. This hub is a digital platform designed to empower purpose-driven Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in adopting eco-friendly practices. Inspired by Fair Trade Principle Ten—Climate Action and Protection of the Environment—this platform enables SMEs to:

• Access the most recent resources and tools to boost the environmental performance of their businesses.

• Explore innovative and practical sustainability solutions tailored to their business needs, covering aspects such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable sourcing, and eco-friendly packaging.

Serving as the primary resource for purpose-driven SMEs seeking to incorporate environmental solutions into their businesses, the Environmental Solutions Hub offers a comprehensive multilingual search engine. This tool effortlessly enables users to locate sustainable solutions and innovations based on geographical location, industry, and value chain impact, fostering seamless access to valuable information.
