
The World Fair Trade Organization Names New Chief Executive
The Board of Directors of the World Fair Trade Organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Erinch Sahan as Chief Executive effective April 1, 2018.
Mr. Sahan, who currently resides in the United Kingdom, is the founder and head of the Future Business Initiative at Oxfam- Great Britain. In this role, he leads Oxfam's work on promoting fairer models of business and a range of campaigning and advocacy teams.
Prior to his work with Oxfam, he was employed by the Australian Agency for International Development.
Mr. Sahan holds bachelor’s degrees in Finance and International Business and in Law, and a Master’s Degree International Law and International Relations.
WFTO President Rudi Dalvai said he was gratified that the organization was able to secure a person of Erinch’s experience and dedication to fill this important role.
Mr. Sahan stated that he "is immensely excited to join the WFTO at a time when the Fair Trade movement will be a critical force in shaping a new economic vision for our planet - one based on the values of Fair Trade.”
He will succeed Natalia Leal who has resigned from her position as WFTO Chief Executive to pursue other interests.
WFTO President Rudi Dalvai expressed his appreciation, on the part of the Board of Directors and the entire membership, for Ms. Leal’s commitment and exemplary service during the last four and half years.
