“Value chains” and “supply chains” are often used interchangeably to mean “supply chains” by which it is often overlooked that the brand/buyer itself is a link in the chain itself. This is crucial to keep in mind in order to adopt business practices with a meaningful impact on both sustainability and the livelihood of producers. The (expected) relevance of the Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) will be explored to prepare members and show them how their practices are part of an integrated due diligence approach that is valuable for brands once the directive is implemented.
