The last 2014 Fair Trade & Friends Fair in Dortmund, Germany was a great success for both WFTO Latin America and many of WFTO's Latin American Members

We hope this year the fair will be as much of a success, giving the opportunity to interested Fair Traders to meet many of our WFTO members and purchase their products. 

The Fair will take place the weekend of the 28 to 30 August 2015

To commemorate 30 years since Live Aid became a fundamental milestone in the campaign against global poverty first Fair Trade Towns from across the globe will be taking part in Fair Trade Live to raise awareness of Fair Trade with world leaders, local mayors and the media being invited.

Bristol is European Green Capital in 2015; the 9th International Fair Trade Towns Conference will focus on being green and being fair – how Fair Trade works to protect the environment, works with farmers to adapt to the effects of climate change and supports sustainable food production.

To demonstrate how Fair Trade is an important part of local and global sustainability plans and commitments, leading to increased Fair Trade purchasing around the world.

World Refugee Day is held every year in June 20. According to UNHCR, there are more than 50 million refugees around the world, half of which are women and children.

For years, many countries and regions have been holding their own Refugee Days and even Weeks. One of the most widespread is Africa Refugee Day, which is celebrated on 20 June in several countries. The General Assembly therefore decided that 20 June would be celebrated as World Refugee Day.

Every year on 12 June we celebrate the World Day Against Child Labour. 

Principle 5 of WFTO Fair Trade Principles is Ensuring No Child Labour and No Forced Labour, therefore it is important for us and the whole Fair Trade movement to conmemorate and create conscience on this important date.

This years’ Organic Congress from IFOAM EU group will take place in Riga.
European organic stakeholders and policy makers will gather in the Latvian capital on 11-13 June to design the future of the EU organic movement. 

The congress will deal with the following topics: “Where does the organic movement want to be in 2030? What can we deliver to the society?  And most importantly, how will we do so?”
