Allpa (jewellery)
Peru has a an ancient tradition of silver and goldsmiths dating from Pre-Columbian times. Northern Chimu and Moche Cultures left astonishing objects made in silver, gold and copper which can be found in museums all around the world. The traditional skills of casting, soldering, inlays, and embossing, have been mixed during the colonial and republican times and then combined with external influences to result in the rich culture of jewellery making in Peru today.
Allpa works with artisans to combine traditional skills with contemporary design, drawing inspiration from the Andean landscapes. This collection combines the traditional technique of hand embossing with contemporary design.

“I have learned everything I know from my father. He has developed our own equipment and he has always taught us to move forward”.
In the early 80s, my father Tomas decided to start his own workshop calling it “Arte de los Reyes” that means Arts of the Kings. To this date, we continue learning and making changes to have a better infrastructure of the workshop to continue providing the best of our work, with the help of the excellent quality of our Peruvian silver, and of course, working hand in hand with our clients, open to suggestions and changes that will allow us to continue improving every day, and adapting to the demands of the market.’ RAQUEL REYES
