In light of recent development in Palestine, the WFTO Global Board issued this message to rally support for the Fair Trade movement and their communities in the country.

“We the elected board of the World Fair Trade Organization (representatives of 419 organisations from across the global Fair Trade movement) declare our support for Palestinian farmers and enterprises in their attempt to access global markets. For decades, Palestinian Fair Trade Organisations have played a key role in fostering economic development, gender equality, fairness and peace. We are deeply concerned by barriers that prevent exports from the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which harms the livelihoods of thousands of people and undermines peace. In solidarity with these communities, we call on all governments and people to support the ability of Palestinian farmers and enterprises to access global markets so they can continue their critical work.”
