For the first time the Brighton Fashion Week will fully focus on sustainable fashion.
Brighton Fashion Week offers a fresh approach to promote sustainability within the fashion industry. The aim is to encourage as many excellent quality innovative sustainable fashion brands to showcase at the event as possible and showcase the very best in sustainable fashion.
Not all purchasers of fashion understand the impacts of what they choose to buy. Brighton Fashion Week will tell the story of waste people create from their fast fashion shopping fix contrasting this with sustainable fashion practices and the need for fair wages.
The event will consist of three main catwalks, two workshops delivered by Carol Rose from the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan at WRAP.
Her workshops will deal with Design for Longevity and Taking your Brand to the Marketplace.
In addition the film “The Next Black” will be shown, followed by a panel discussion on "the Future of Fashion."
The Brighton Fashion Week is set for 15 to 18 October 2015.
The venue is quite special as it will take place in All Saints Church, in the heart of Brighton & Hove. The church can seat 500+ guests per show.
